Lauren O’Quinn is an award-winning professional actress with over 150 national and regional commercials and numerous films and television shows to her credit. She majored in Theatre at the University of Georgia before moving to Orlando in 1997. She has been working with actors as a coach since 1999 and teaching professional acting classes since 2002. For 10 years, she taught advanced acting classes for Art Sake Studios – and in 2012, opened ClassAct Studios. She is a founding member of Art Sake Studios’ resident ensemble, a former talent agent, and a freelance casting director. Her specialty is training actors in deep emotional access and the ability to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances. Lauren’s unique background of experience on all sides of the camera gives ClassAct actors the ability to gain invaluable knowledge about the business of acting, as well as the craft.
Landon Price has been a performer since he was in middle school and acting locally for the greater part of a decade. He has worked with the Orlando International Fringe Festival, Orlando Playfest, numerous independent films, regional, and national commercials for clients such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Publix, and SeaWorld. Working as a host and facilitator for Walt Disney World, Landon has extensive experience teaching both large and small classes. He has studied acting with Lauren O’Quinn since 2004 and has been her teaching assistant since 2005.
Rachael Thompson has been a professional actor for more than a decade and her training lead her to begin studying with Lauren O’Quinn at ClassAct in 2009. Since that time, she has assisted Lauren as a teaching assistant and appeared in numerous films, television shows, and commercials. Recent credits include Bloodline (with Sissy Spacek and Ben Mendelsohn), The Inspectors, Swamp Murders, Sunlight Jr. (with Naomi Watts) and national commercials for Ford, Doubletree Hotels, and Cumberland Farms. Rachael tapes actors at ClassAct for major films and television shows and works as a casting assistant with Mullen Casting. Her extensive experience on both sides of the camera, combined with her warmth and true passion for acting make her the perfect teacher to educate and encourage teen actors.
Whether you’re a longtime pro or a novice to the industry, you’ll begin with Reel Foundations. Co-taught by Owner/Artistic Director Lauren O’Quinn and her veteran teaching assistant, Landon Price, this class is the foundation for our acting process (Sanford Meisner based), as well as a fantastic scene study class. We’ll work on emotional access and depth work, plus you’ll get some hard-hitting acting business advice you won’t find anywhere else. Class size is limited and seats are given on a first-come, first served basis. Reel Foundations acting classes begin 3 times a year – in January, May, and September. Taught by Landon Price. Monday nights: 7 – 11. 12 week semester. This is an invite-only acting class for students that have completed REEL FOUNDATIONS or Art Sake’s CORE/SCENE STUDY curriculum. Class will take the skills and processes that were learned in the Foundations curriculum and build upon them by focusing on emotional honesty through Meisner, auditioning skills, and grounded weekly scenework. This class serves as a pre-requisite for Lauren’s Advanced Scenes & Meisner acting classes. Tuition: $375
Taught by Lauren O’Quinn. Tuesday nights: 7 – 11. Ongoing enrollment in 12 week semesters. This is an invite-only acting class for advanced students. In order to be considered for the class, actors must have completed REEL INTENSIVE. In addition, actors must be working professionals with perseverance, dedication, and a drive to succeed. If you meet the criteria and would like to be considered for invitation, contact Lauren directly and ask to be placed on the enrollment list.
Taught by Lauren O’Quinn. Wednesday nights: 7 – 11. Ongoing enrollment in 8 week semesters. This is an invite-only advanced master class. In order to be considered, actors must have completed Reel Intensive, and at least 2 semesters of Reel Advanced Scenes & Meisner acting classes. In addition, actors must be working professionals with perseverance, dedication, and a drive to succeed.
Taught by experienced professional actor, Rachael Thompson, with a syllabus designed by ClassAct’s Artistic Director, Lauren O’Quinn. Sunday nights: 5pm-8pm. Foundation, Process and the JOY of Acting all in one 12 week semester!This class is for both the experienced teen actor who wants to take their career to the next level AND the beginning actor hungry for industry knowledge. Classes will include game-based emotional access and depth work, scene study, audition preparation, on-camera audition technique, AND some hard-hitting business advice you won’t find anywhere else. Class size is limited and seats are given on a first-come, first-served basis! Tuition: $399 (payment plans available)
